Cody Wright is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner. Cody was born and raised in Amarillo, Texas. He is a proud Tascosa Rebel and holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports and Exercise Science (SES) as well as a Bachelors of Science in Nursing from West Texas A&M University. Cody is a long time athlete, playing baseball all the way through college for the Buffaloes. While studying SES he learned that he had a keen interest in the anatomical studies, which ultimately led him to pursue medicine. After shadowing in clinics from an Orthopaedic surgeon’s office to an Oncology outpatient office, he determined the Nurse Practitioner role provided the right profile for his approach to medicine and started down that path in his education.
Since becoming a Registered Nurse, he has experience in Surgical Intensive Care, taking care of patients in the most critical of conditions and in high pressure situations. He has also spent time in an Urgent Care setting helping people to resolve acute care needs.
However, he knew his passion was to work as a diagnostician and continued in school to become a Family Nurse Practitioner. He has recently completed his Masters of Science in Nursing from West Texas A&M University and is excited to pursue his career with Well Life. He has a passion for helping others seek wellness by listening to patients’ concerns and problem solving to find the right solution. He is eager to learn functional medicine practices under Dr. Ehle to help develop a well rounded approach to whole life wellness.
Cody is married to a fellow Amarillo native, Joanna, and has three beautiful children, two girls and a boy in the middle. Cody’s son, who has Down Syndrome, has been his primary patient, whereby Cody has helped Ben recover and do therapies surrounding 8 surgeries. Cody is a member of the Down Syndrome Medical interest group of the United States where he stays connected and up to date on some of the most interesting cases regarding patients with Down Syndrome. Cody is passionate for helping kids and their families as pediatric care has become such a major part of his own life. Cody’s favorite pastimes include running, golf, and working on his yard to make it look like a golf course. He loves spending time with his family and escaping to the mountains whenever possible.
